The Chesterfield Kings "Psychedelic Sunrise" 2007

The Chesterfield Kings "Psychedelic Sunrise" 2007: "Very few bands match the Kings' mastery of '60s sounds, and this is a prime collection of originals that brilliantly evoke the period, including a couple of songs that you'd swear were Rolling Stones outtakes." --Ken Barnes, USA TODAYLooks to be the band's most recent effort. I've known about the Chesterfield Kings for awhile now. Truly a relief to know there exists bands like this one in the 21st century. One might get the idea these guys started out as a Rolling Stones tribute act because their main influence is heavily and {so obviously} Mick Jagger and crew. About every track here is good, especially "Rise And Fall", "Inside Looking Out", the *ss-kicking fuzz guitar classic "Outtasite", "Yesterday's Sorrows" (reminds me of the New York Dolls) and the rocking "Dawn". Line-up: Greg Prevost-guitar, harmonica, violin, mellotron & lead vocals, Paul Morabito-lead & acoustic guitar & backing vocals, Andy Babiuk-bass, fuzz bass & sitar and Mike Boise-drums, tabla, tambourine and theremin. Overall, just a fun CD to have in you collection. - By Mike Reed
